The SCAUWG is concerned that the proposed Class C airspace
as proposed does not solve the problem of reducing conflict
between general aviation aircraft and departing jet traffic
from Long Beach. Others wishing to have .pdf or short
PowerPoint presentations on this subject added to
this site should send them to
reastman@eastmangroup.com
with a cover note.
Comments regarding this proposal were submitted in September, 2010
by the SCAUWG.
The Long Beach airspace solution is remains under review by the
FAA in December of 2010. The FAA has indicated that the comments were
substantative and they are being taken very seriously.
There has been no announcement as to when a final decision, if
any, will be made.
